Neurofeedback is a Clinically Proven,
Non-Drug Method for Reducing or Eliminating ADD/ADHD Symptoms
Neurofeedback (also known as EEG Biofeedback) creates positive, lasting changes in adults and children by encouraging the brain to reorganize itself toward more optimal functioning. While symptoms and problem behaviors are commonly treated chemically, the basis of our brain chemistry is the brain's electrical message system - the brain waves.
Someone with ADD/ADHD has an excess of slow brainwaves associated with daydreaming, which makes it difficult to concentrate long enough to accomplish a task quickly or efficiently.
At BETTER BRAINS, Neurofeedback is used to help the individual train his or her brain to produce more of the faster brainwaves associated with concentration and focus.

As a person learns to produce faster brainwaves when needed, the brain can perform better with everyday tasks such as:
Reading
Following directions
Working analytical problems
Staying focused
improved listening and reading comprehension
Diminish the symptoms of ADD/ADHD
Most people are able to diminish the symptoms of ADD/ADHD in a few short months. They can often significantly reduce or eliminate their need for medications.
In addition to ADD/ADHD, other symtoms helped by Neurofeedback include migraines, sleep disturbances, PTSD, addiction, depression, anxiety, and other psychobiological disorders. Neurofeedback improves brainwave functioning. As a result, brain chemistry is changed as well. (With none of those medication side effects!)

What is Neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is brain exercise. We observe your brain in action from moment to moment by monitoring your brainwaves. We show you your brain activity and we help you change it
by rewarding shifts toward a more functional and stable brain state. It is a gradual learning process.
Neurofeedback is also referred to as EEG Biofeedback or Neurotherapy. The electroencephalogram (EEG) is another
name for the brain wave recordings and, in this context, biofeedback refers to the process by which you learn to
change your brainwaves and hence change your control
of brain states.
How can Neurofeedback help?
Neurofeedback training improves attention, cognitive abilities, and emotional regulation. Neurofeedback can help to reduce
or eliminate a number of common symptoms such as anxiety, stress reactions, depression, sleep problems, headaches, migraines, and emotional distress. Neurofeedback can also
help relieve a variety of conditions such as mood swings,
PMS, and organic brain disorders including seizures, stroke,
and traumatic brain injury.
Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation. Good self-
regulation is necessary for optimal brain function. Self-
regulation training enhances the function of the central
nervous system and thereby improves mental performance, emotional control and physiological stability. |
